How A Match Is Run
5 Stand it is a type of shotgun shooting sport similar to sporting clays, trap and skeet. There are 5 stations and 8 strategically placed clay target throwers. Shooters shoot in turn at various combinations of clay birds. Each station will have a menu card that lets the shooter know the sequence of clay birds he or she will be shooting at. The shooter is presented with 5 targets at each station, first a single bird followed by, a report pair and then a true pair. After shooting at the 5 birds on the menu at that station, the shooter proceeds to the next stand, where they find a new menu of 5 targets.
Equipment
- Eye and ear protection are required at all times even for spectators.
- Shotgun
- Shotshells – We only use “target loads” and the largest shot size we allow on our shotgun fields is 7½.
Fees
$8 for members and $10 for non-members
Time
10 am to 2 pm.
Dates
1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
Safety
Non-club members will need to sign a waiver to participate.
